Senior Scientist/Cancer Cell Cultures
Location: Krakow, Poland
Our Client is an innovative biotech startup focused on cell culture technology. Their unique product, patented in 2020, addresses the increasing demand for new solutions in the biotechnology sector, particularly in vitro research. The company is now focusing on developing an innovative model based on 3D cultures for preclinical studies of new targeted therapies and immunotherapies for various types of cancer.
The team is looking to strengthen the R&D team with an independent scientist, who will support both the development of proprietary innovative solutions in oncology and the services offered to clients (based on 3D cell culture models).
We are seeking skilled scientists, ideally holding a PhD and possessing industry experience in research methodologies, quality assurance, and validation techniques. This role's key focus will be assay development, which must align with the production workflow.
- Develop and implement assays: cell viability measurements, life/dead staining, and other assays related to cell cultures.
- Develop and implement methods of validation and quality control procedures.
- Conceive, investigate, and execute scientific research to improve platform processes and workflows significantly, develop new methods, build technical expertise and intellectual property, and deepen scientific understanding.
- Proactively seek out new information and opportunities to advance the company technologies and pipeline. Critically evaluate relevant scientific, reg business advances and integrate this knowledge.
- Effectively communicate scientific data and concepts to internal and external stakeholders.
- Author and review technical reports, protocols (SOPs), and other key documents.
- PhD in a relevant field.
- of 7 years of direct laboratory work experience in the development of cell cultures, ideally for cancer research.
- Previous experience in the biotech industry or pharma (R&D) industry.
- Experience in different assay development, especially for cell cultures, knowledge and experience in validation of the developed assays, methods validation.
- Expert knowledge in cancer research is of high importance, knowledge about cytotoxic and cytostatic drugs and their activity.
- Experience working with an inverted fluorescent microscope and basic fluorescence analysis.
- Good level of communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work within the team. flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluent in English with solid scientific vocabulary.
